Job Description
Your Responsibilities Include
- Supervising, coaching, and mentoring a team of Grassroots Engagement staff members
- Directing day to day activities of field offices
- Working with staff to develop strategies to educate and mobilize themselves and their communities on public policy and grassroots activities
- Traveling to work alongside state staff to plan, organize and execute state and local educational programs, informational meetings, virtual opportunities, and other grassroots events, including facilitating phone banks, door-to-door canvassing, and other voter contact activities
- Cultivating a team culture of openness and respect

- Have proven experience leading and managing teams
- Can connect with people from all walks of life, build relationships quickly, and can inspire and motivate others
- Are adaptable, self-starters who aren’t afraid to learn and will be a champion of change
- Value leading and developing a team and aren’t afraid to provide feedback to help cultivate and develop staff to achieve great outcomes
- Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Are willing to travel as needed in the state and/or region
- Are aligned with AFP’s mission and vision of advancing policy reforms that empower all people
Standout Candidates May Also Bring
- Experience in political campaigns, community organizing and/or grassroots advocacy
- Knowledge of state and federal public policy and political landscapes
- Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite and can learn new systems, platforms, and further develop technical skills when required
